Understanding yourself is core identity work, type of work no one could do for you
It’s the prerequisite for attracting anything of value
Lots of young folks don’t see the paradox
The more you work on the internal, the more you attract better things
Focus on the external, and your chances of getting what you want become so slim
Psychologists are giving lectures on “Detachment from the outcome”
because it’s a rule-of-thumb, in so many topics
In fact it’s a theme
Chase money, you’re not getting any
Chase a person, you’re not getting them
Chase the clout, you’re not getting it
Especially during these times we are living in
The quicker you want something, the easier you are to manipulate
It’s easier than ever to be indulged, lose yourself, and lose your identity
If you don’t pay attention to your inner monologue, no one is coming to save you
It’s sad, but fair
You have to talk to yourself, and record what you find, every day & every week
When you chase things, you lose parts of yourself, and in different directions
It’s just impossible to keep doing it AND keep yourself together at the same time
But when you work on yourself, put in the daily reps, shut down the exterior
Things magically align
Things come easy, and in a way you could’ve never vividly imagined
When you focus on what you can control, day in & day out, you become the center of attraction
That which is like unto itself is drawn
And in many cases, these are just the fundamentals
So hard to imagine how far practicing the fundamentals everyday could take you
People overestimate how far chasing people, things, & lifestyle could take them
Yet at the same time underestimate how repeating the basics could be effective
It’s not intuitive but it just works
When you focus on yourself, people would want to get ahold of you
When you focus on people, you’re alone on an island
And then, when you understand the paradox, when you know yourself quite well,
the world seems to be flooding you with more opportunities & people.
