I’m not big on journaling.
I’m big on time travel.
I don’t want to forget any memory. Good or bad.
Why?
It’s because at this very moment, there are events & lessons from my past that could bring tremendous value to me now, but couldn’t before –
Why?
Because I still wouldn’t have grown enough to make sense of them back then.
Am I able to access them?
Answer is no.
Simply because I wasn’t in the practice of documenting my life back then.
Which highlights why it’s critical to start doing it now!
🧠 3 truths about the human mind:
- We only learn in hindsight
- We grow at different paces
- We have short-term memories of daily events
"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future” – Steve Jobs
Since we only learn in hindsight,
it’s possible that we might miss out on a life-changing insight 💡
because we forgot the memory 🧠 that led to it.
But if our documentation 📝 is in place, we’re able to learn at our pace,
and at future points of time.
This removes the urgency to make sense of everything now,
which eliminates overthinking!
It’s simple:
→ The experience of yesterday is the lesson of today
→ The experience of today is the lesson of tomorrow
So anyone who documents everything happening in their life,
is basically able to learn & grow at a much faster pace ⚡️ –
to the point that makes it feel like cheating.
It’s not only transformative, it’s a superpower.
So how to document everything?
Often documenting gets too hard if it’s all manual.
Why?
Because your brain does lots of heavy lifting to try remember and document everything happening in your life!
There has to be more autonomy & less friction for capturing memories & events.
This makes it more sustainable & fun!
Hyperspaces is a journal app that auto-captures locations & activities from sensors & services you already use.
