most successful people i knew throughout the past year all share one common trait:
they look like they are playing
it looks like a paradox. they are playful in the way they do things, without sweating too much about the stuff that doesn't work. i noticed for them it seems there isn't any difference between what they should be doing and what they would do for free anyway.
for them the world feels like a playground. i have seen people who still manage to get things done even in the most absurd settings and conditions. when you're 'playing', even a 1000 reasons won't be enough to let you off of what you're doing.
i got fascinated by how this seems to be their default mode. the separator between work and life seems to blend in a very lucrative way. when you take pride in your work, there wouldn't be a time where you'll have to stop working to live life, nor stop living to start working.
i believe this doesn't have to be only in tech - i think this still works if you're running a coffee franchise, a merch brand, or any practice that you do care about.
also, i noticed that this playground mode enables 'experimentation' in a very natural way. there will be times when the probability of success depends solely on the number of experiments you're willing to take. and being lenient towards trying stuff without being rigid about outcomes ultimately produces better outcomes. that's why play wins.
just a thing i noticed.
